About Akaar Patra

Akaar started as a desire to do things differently.

Founded by long time friends Tanvi and Keshav, the art house explores what furniture and home decor can be, when it’s allowed to be more than just functional. We design objects that sit somewhere between furniture and art. Our pieces carry unique forms, are made with feeling and intent. We take care that such personalised items still carry functionality.

Each piece is designed to hold meaning. We see them as functional art pieces that have utility and story. We’re interested in furniture that feels personal, almost sentimental, and slowly becomes part of someone’s identity.

Our work is made in close collaboration with Indian craftsmen. Their skill and process shape the final outcome as much as design does. Akaar Patra is a passion project that was meant to start a conversation in your space. It isn’t about being loud or unattainable. It’s about creating pieces that make you think about their origins.
